Focus

Focus (from the Latin word for hearth) is the human name given to the yinrih’s sun to distinguish it from humanity’s home star Sol. The name Focus can refer either to the star itself or to the star along with all the bodies orbiting it.

The system contains 4 terrestrial planets, one gas giant, one ice giant, and two asteroid belts with many dwarf planets.

In order from innermost to outermost, the planets are: Hearthside, Sweetwater, Yih, Newhome, Welkinstead, and Moonlitter. The inner belt is located between Welkinstead and Moonlitter, and the outer belt extends from past the orbit of Moonlitter to the edge of interstellar space.

Politically, the system is divided into concentric rings centered on Focus itself. The polities from innermost to outermost are as follows: Hearthside, which consists only of the planet Hearthside, but nominally has jurisdiction over the sun; The Allied Worlds, consisting of Sweetwater, Yih, Newhome, and Welkinstead; The Spacer Confederacy, which is a loos collection of independent orbital colonies in the inner belt; Moonlitter, which claims the titular ice giant, its many moons, as well as a portion of the outer belt; and Partisan Territory, which occupies the remainder of the outer belt.
