The Bright Way

The Bright Way, also known as Claravianism (from Latin clara via “bright way”), is the most historically influential religion in yinrih history. It is monotheistic, with a strongly apophatic theology. Its most sacred precept is The Great Commandment, which states that yinrih are to seek out other sophonts among the stars. Followers of the Bright Way are referred to as Wayfarers.

The consistant failure of claravian missionaries to find extraterrestrial intelligence prior to finding Earth, as well as the corruption of the clergy during a period known as the Age of Decadence, caused yinrih society to secularize. While the Bright Way’s impact across yinrih cultures is still felt today, few yinrih identify as Wayfarers.
